Install your Filteroo® ULTRAPURE 7" All in 1 Ceramic Gravity Water Filtration Candle
Step 1: Rinse the Cartridge
Carefully remove the ceramic gravity cartridge from its box, treating it delicately like an egg. Without touching the white ceramic surface, rinse the cartridge under running water or gently swirl it in a container of clean water for 30 seconds to remove any ceramic dust. Once rinsed, you can place the cartridge back inside its protective plastic wrap to avoid contact with bare hands during installation.
Step 2: Install the Cartridge
- Remove the locking nut from the cartridge.
- Ensure the sealing washer is placed correctly over the threaded mount.
- Insert the filter candle’s stem through the hole in the upper tank and secure it with the wingnut. Tighten only enough to create a seal; do not overtighten. The goal is to prevent water from leaking around the cartridge threads.
Step 3: Assemble the Filter
- Place the upper tank, with the installed cartridge, into the filter body. Ensure the outlet tap is turned off.
- Fill the top tank with cold water and let it pass through the cartridge into the bottom tank. Discard the first batch of filtered water as it may contain loose particles from the filter.
- Open the outlet tap and let the water flow to waste. Repeat the process at least three times (or flush at least 8 liters/2.11 gallons, depending on your top tank’s capacity). Continue flushing until the water runs clear and tastes clean. You can use the flushing water for plants.
Your Filteroo® Ultrapure Ceramic Cartridge is now ready to use.
Cleaning Your Filter
Over time, the filter’s flow may slow due to accumulated particles. To restore water flow, clean the filter cartridge.
- Wash and dry your hands before handling the used cartridge.
- Remove the cartridge following the installation steps, unscrewing the wingnut.
- Be careful not to contaminate the threads or washers with unfiltered water.
- Hold the cartridge under running water or place it in a bowl of clean water. Use the provided scouring pad to gently scrub the ceramic surface and rinse thoroughly.
Reinstall the cleaned cartridge into the filter housing as per the installation instructions.
